5 Great Vitamins and Minerals You Should Take.
Be Sure To Get Your Vitamins and Minerals!
Today I want to talk about 5 great vitamins, minerals, and other things you should be including in your diet. We all hear about the importance of a balanced diet and that is true, but I want to delve into what you should be eating and why it is important. There are countless things one can include but here are 5 to start off with.
Zinc is great for all of the reasons I mentioned before. It’s great for your skin and anti-inflammatory. It is great for you getting rest, and it’s great for fighting depression and your libido. It’s especially important to men as they need more of it due to the fact that much of it goes into semen. I’ve had great results adding it into my diet and on my skin and my skin is rapidly clearing and is no longer irritated. Before when I used salicylic acid my skin would burn and peel. It would then lead to more scars and pigmentation. Now that I’ve switched I see great improvements.
On top of that zinc can be used as skin cream, lotion, sunscreen, and even lip balm. I simply buy some zinc oxide powder and I mix it with whatever I want and voila, instant sunscreen. It’s very versatile and great for you. I highly recommend zinc and it’s something you should include in your diet. Get it in fish, eggs, and other meats.

Oh good old iron, that thing that we couldn’t live minutes without. We need oxygen to our blood and iron completes that task for us. It also keeps you from feeling tired and fatigued. This is especially important for women whom are more likely to be anemic, especially while pregnant. Also check your iron levels if you are taking antacids. Iron is important for your enzymes as well, which is great especially if you’re athletic.
Iron is lost when you bleed, sweat, and defecate so be sure to keep all of this in mind and get the right amount of iron in your diet. If you take them in supplement form, I recommend the kind that digests easily and melt quickly.
You should be getting enough copper in most cases- many people aren’t getting enough zinc. However if you take lots of zinc it could lead to copper deficiency which could lead to things like nausea, headaches, and hair loss! If this is the case you should take copper to offset your zinc and balance it out more. Copper along with Iron is important for maintaining your bodily organs and for proper growth. When buying copper be sure to get the chelated copper. Much like zinc it absorbs into your body easier and is easier to digest.
4. Fish Oil
Fish oil is great against inflammation because it contains omega 3. You can take this in a supplemental form or in a oil form. The oil is highly effective as it has great quality, but it is more expensive (though it should still last quite a while in small doses. If you eat the pill form make sure you don’t have rancid pills. You can of course eat fish but make sure you’re eating the proper fish on a regular basis as some have more omega 3 than others. Salmon is one of your best bets if you want lots of Omega 3.
5. Vitamin C
Great for your skin and collagen levels. Also good for bone health, hair, and immune system boosting. You need vitamin C and you can get it from things like oranges and strawberries. Strawberries are particularly great because it’s low in sugar and very healthy for you. Give it all a shot and see what works best for you. You can supplement Vitamin C as well, just be sure to get a non-GMO version.
These are a few of a long list of things you should take. Any other suggestions? Leave them here!
