5 Key Parts of Your Morning Ritual
Create Your Morning Ritual.
A morning ritual as an extremely important tool for the successful. How you start the day often plays a big part on how you finish it. Why not have your mind, body, and inner self in tip top shape before you leave the house? Here are 5 key parts of the morning ritual below.
1. Drink Fluids.
Nothing starts off the day like hydrating your body. You want to get some fluids into your body because you’ve been resting all night and you’ve likely dried yourself out. If you don’t do this you will feel much worse in the morning and have a slower start. In the morning every moment is critical so I recommend you hydrate yourself immediately after jumping out of bed. If you have to use the bathroom first that’s ok (all the more reason to hydrate yourself more).
I personally get more foot cramps and things like that in the summer so I definitely try to get my fluids going. Quench the body, quench the brain. I highly recommend a Stanley Thermos as that is what I use to keep my drinks cool during the day. I am on the move a lot and I drink water (and lemon/lime water) so these are great.
2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast
It sounds cliché but a healthy breakfast is a great way to start off the day. If you know me by now, you know how much I recommend cooking and keeping a food journal to begin with. You want to fill your body up after sleeping so long and break your fast, hence breakfast.
Make sure you’re getting a real fresh meal and filling yourself up with vitamins, minerals, and fats that you need during the day. You can’t be at your most productive with a bad diet. You want to be fresh and healthy, not tired, hungry, and sore.
Exercising sends oxygen to the brain and makes you feel great! A good workout is a great way to conquer the day. Get in some quick cardio (use a home gym if you want to work out at any time) and work those muscles out. I recommend the morning because people tend to be more motivated to get it done and it shows that people who are successful tend to get up and exercise in the morning. All you need is an exercise mat (get a thick one), some dumbbells, and a jump rope to get that quick 15 minute workout in!
4. Plan Your Day
Failing to plan is planning to fail. You want to make your plans for the day so that you can be as effective with your time as possible and make the most of it. Remember you can’t get any time you wasted back so why waste it being unproductive. Get a scheduler and make the most of it. Write down what you need to do and tackle the most important parts. Finish your day in style!
Meditate, pray, or just have quiet time whichever works for you. This is a great way to clear out your mind and plan on what you’re going to do and what you want to improve upon. Without this it’s much harder to get better at what you want. You want to slow down the engine so to speak to get some quiet time in your mind. This way you can fire off on all cylinders properly. Don’t go through the day half-cocked. Go with a clear mind.
These are just 5 ways to start your day, can you think of any more that need to be done?
