The 3 Tenets of Mastering Your Self-Worth
Your Self Worth Is An Important Part of How You Live Your Life.
Your self-worth says a lot about you because it says a lot about how you value yourself. A person with high self worth will treat and approach life differently than someone with lower self worth. They will surround themselves with other people who value themselves and have a similar upward goal in life. Similarly people who have a low self-worth will put themselves around destructive people and go down with them. It’ll affect how they take care of their bodies, manage their time, energy, and resources.
A high self-worth is important. What is self-worth? It is essentially the worth you put in yourself. In other words it’s how you value yourself. This article is here to discuss the traits of people with high self worth and what you should do to get there.
1. How Do You Value Yourself?
Do you place a high value on yourself? If you aren’t sure, ask yourself the following questions:
- How do you treat yourself overall?
- How do you take care of your body?
- How do you feel about yourself?
- Who do you hang out with?
- Are you constantly stressed?
- How do you value your time?
- How do you value your money?
- How do other people treat you? If you don’t like the way they treat you, do you still allow it?
If you are faltering in one or several of these areas, it may be time to do an evaluation of your life overall and what changes you can make to improve it and have a higher self worth. This is important as it affects what you end up doing in the long run. Changing these indicators to making them of maximum impact means that you’ll develop the habits that benefit you.
A person with high value doesn’t spend time with other people who don’t value themselves and only serve to drag them down. It goes without saying that if you have high self worth you should definitely think well of yourself. Eating well and managing your time and money are also part of living a life of high self worth.
2. The Beauty of Self Ownership.
Self ownership is a powerful thing once you get accustomed to it because it’s how you become empowered to take your life to the fullest. With self ownership you are taking ownership of yourself and all possible outcomes that come in your life. You’re taking full control of your being and entity. Once you do this you accept that whatever happens in your life is in your control. It takes a high self worth to accomplish this.
There is also another side to this. With self ownership there is freedom. You have freedom to do what you want with your life. With that freedom comes responsibility. This is the part that many people don’t like but it’s important. With responsibility for your own actions you can take the steps to change your life and make it what you want.
Being responsible means taking accountability when something goes wrong. This also means realizing what you could have done better, even if it wasn’t your fault directly. For instance if you hire someone and they end up being not suited for the job, see what you could do differently. Same goes for a bad relationship or anything else of that nature. It’s your job to see that you picked those people and avoid making those same decisions in the future by altering your criteria of how you select people. This alone is an important step into making your life better. If you don’t take responsibility for your life, how will you adjust it?
3. Your Self-Worth Only Comes From You.
“If you don’t have it, nobody else can give it to you.” -The C-Master
Self-worth can only come from oneself. It has to be founded on the value a person puts on themselves and their own lives. If you don’t have the ability to find value in yourself, others won’t be able to do it for you either. That’s a journey you’ll have to take on your own. You can be highly liked and still feel depressed and hopeless. Just as much you can feel great even when the world seems to be against you.
Don’t look for others to do this for you. Don’t expect a relationship to fix this problem for you. You can still feel alone and hopeless even if you are inside of a relationship. Take control of your own life and put yourself first before you try to assist others. If you can’t take care of your own internal struggles helping others out will be near impossible.
Your relationship with yourself starts today. Be sure to value it.
